Members of our team helped pioneer scientific techniques for measuring psychological well-being and physical health based on the analysis of language in social media. Rather than only measuring the things in text that we set out to measure, we let the data tell its own story through use of flexible topic modelling and differential language analysis. Understanding text at every level for psychological insight, from the document (review) level all the way to understanding the language profile of large product portfolios.

"As a collaboration between computer scientists, psychologists, and statisticians, we are shedding new light on the psychosocial processes that affect health and happiness and exploring the potential for our unobtrusive well-being measures to supplement -- and in part replace -- expensive survey methods.
